New Delhi, July 25 (IANS): Delhiites woke up to a cloudy, pleasant morning Thursday with the minimum temperature settling a notch below average at 26.3 degrees Celsius. The weather office has forecast rain later in the day.
The maximum temperature is expected to hover at 35 degrees Celsius.
"The skies will remain cloudy and some parts of the city are expected to get light rain or thundershowers," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Delhi, experiencing more than average rainfall, recorded 19.3 mm of rain from 8.30 a.m. Wednesday to 8.30 a.m. Thursday.
The national capital has recorded 406 mm of rain in the monsoon so far. This is 75 percent more than the average, the official said.
Humidity at 8.30 a.m. Wednesday stood at a whopping 95 percent.
Wednesday's maximum temperature settled three notches above the season's average at 37.2 degrees Celsius.
