Puttur: Shruthi wins national-level essay contest on good governance

Puttur, Jul 22: Shruthi, a student of class 10, has secured the first prize in the national-level essay competition on ‘Parliamentary Democracy - Gateway to Good Governance’ organized by the Indian government Commonwealth Parliamentary Association as part of its centenary programme 2011-12.
Lok Sabha Speaker Meera Kumari conferred the prize on Shruthi at Balayogi Auditorium, New Delhi, recently.
The first prize consists of Rs 30,000 and a certificate.
She has also secured the prize twice in the state-level essay competition organized by the state government law and parliamentary affairs ministry and public education department.
She is the daughter of Mohan Madival and Vimala of Uppinangady, Harinagara.
Vice-principal of her school Diwakar Acharya lauded her achievedment and said, “She has been able to achieve this feat with the guidance of social science teacher Subramanya Bhat, T Vinayaka Bhat, Gudappa Balya, Suma, and Jessy P V.”
