Mangalore: Two youngsters dragged out of bus, assaulted at Yekkur

Mangalore, Jul 22: Two youngsters were allegedly dragged out of a bus and assaulted near Yekkur here on Monday July 22 in broad daylight.
The incident is suspected to be a fallout of the protest that broke out in Kasargod over a comment on Facebook againt Prophet Mohammed.
The youths have been identified as Moosa Mirshad (19) and Ramshid (19), both residents of Hosangady.
They were on their way to a tutorials in the city, where they are pursuing their second pre-university course. They were travelling by Anjaneya bus no 43.
It is said that nearly 10 persons followed them and forcibly stopped the bus near Yekkur, dragged them out and assaulted them with rods and wickets.
Mirshad and Ramshid, who were injured, were then taken by an auto driver towards their tutorials, but the assualters followed them. From there, they were shifted to Wenlock hospital by their classmates.
Some of the eyewitnesses claimed that one of assaulters was Sanjay, a resident of Jeppinamogeru.
A case has been registered in the Mangalore rural police station.
