Udupi, Jul 21: Vasanth Shetty Bellare was selected as president of Delhi Karnataka Sangha. He hails from from Kalenja, Sullia, and is currently working in Riyan, Delhi. Bellare is the second president of the association. Earlier, Purushotam Billimale was the president of the Sangha. This time, a total of 31 members contested for the post in two groups of 15 members and one candidate was independent.

Members: Anjani Gowda, Radhakrishna, Poornima Gowda, Biradhara V V, Shrinivasa P C, Ananda Eshwarappa Muragouda, Asha Shamsunder, and Basavaraj Meati.
Bellare has also served as vice-president of Century Crane Engineers Company, Faridabad. In 2004-2006 he was appointed as executive committee member, cultural committee president, and organized a 15-day cultural programme during the inauguration of the building.
Bellare is also a writer and has published ‘Anthargatha’ small fiction, ‘Akala’ story anthology, and ‘Adhyaya’ poetry anthology. He has also organized programme for Krishnamurthy Kalumungi’s ‘Asha Soudha’, ‘Adhamya’ on I Rammohan Rao, and ‘Alike’ on Yakshagana artiste Alike Ramayya Rai in his friendly publication ‘Delhi Mitra’.
He also worked as Delhi Kannada Education Institution vice-president and convener during the Delhi Tulu Siri Global Convention.
