Houston, July 20 (IANS): A woman fell to her death from an amusement park roller coaster in the US state of Texas Friday, authorities said.
The incident happened at Six Flags Over Texas park in the city of Arlington, 370 km north of Texas's largest city Houston, reported Xinhua citing TV ABC13.
Park spokesperson Sharon Parker said paramedics responded immediately to the scene but it was too late.
"Since the safety of our guests and employees is our number one priority, the ride has been closed pending further investigation," Parker said in a statement.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends during this difficult time."
The Texas Giant which the woman was believed to be riding is reportedly the tallest steel-hybrid roller coaster in the world. It reaches 47 meters in height and has a drop of 79 degrees. It can carry up to 24 riders.
