Kundapur, Jul 18: A newly-built house at Nakatte in Byndoor was reportedly demolished by miscreants on the night of Wednesday July 18. It is suspected that the miscreants might have used explosives to demolish the house, said Mohammed Sultan at Byndoor police station.
The construction work of the house was almost over. The miscreants have completely demolished a part of the house resulting in a loss of Rs 10 - 12 lac.
It is suspected that this was the handiwork of Sumkudru Mukthiyar, Fayyaz Ali, Mavada Hassan and others, said Mohammed Sultan in his complaint.
A case is registered at Byndoor police station.
'Pre-planned act'
"In Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, this is a new and serious issue. Instead of arresting the miscreants soon, we find police officials supporting them. Also, this act was carried out in a fit of rage and was pre-planned," said journalist Anduka S, relative of the house owner.
She addressed the gathering during a press meet briefing about the loss incurred by her uncle and said that no higher officials had visited the spot. "The family had also asked the police officials for protection as they posed danger from the suspected accused," he said.
House owner and complainer Mohammed Sultan, Ummar Farooq among others were present.
