Kasargod: Bus, truck collide at Kumble, over 25 injured

Kasargod, Jul 16: More than 25 persons were injured when a bus and a goods truck collided on NH 66 near Pervadi in Kumble here on Monday July 15 evening.

The incident took place when the Kerala government bus plying from Kasargod to Mangalore was hit by a goods truck.

The truck driver Amul from Maharashtra is admitted to a hospital in Mangalore while the bus driver Ramachandra Pille from Chengala is admitted to a government hospital in Kumble.

Vaishnavi, Prabhavathi from Mangalpady, Smitha from Paivali are recuperating in a hospital in Kasargod. Amar Singh, Pratap, Sheena, Ramesh, Suhara, Ananda, Ashraf, Abdul Rehman, Nafeeza, and Shreeshan suffered minor injuries. They received treatment at a hospital in Kumble.

Traffic was affected for sometime, but was restored by clearing the bus and the truck with the help of a crane.

Kumble police have registered a case.

    As a result of bad planning and construction quality of 48000 highways the general public is sufffering today. If not all most are of sub standard quality. A quick example of a city road though not a highway is of the stretch between Mannagudda to temple square. The road is always congested and unplanned and sub tandard work was carried on courtesy Yogish Bhat. Nayak mamak ugdas aschya puro nave...mulyari Bhat maam polovachayak na kai jaavo aproopak Wenlockant Moosambi vanton aashilo aatha thevi na....kai maraya bhat maam?

    Why didnt you pull out the statistics of the expenses, amount granted, amount spent, amount vanished, amount fell in pockets etc.?

    Sad incident.. The kasargod express buses fly as if they are the only one traveling. I have seen personally it many a times. Specially from Pumpwell to Thokottu..

    DUE TO BAD ROADS AND NO PROPER MOTORABLE ROADS SUCH ACCIDENTS BOUND TO HAPPEN.

    LATEST STATISTICS FROM UPA SAYS :

    48000 KM HIGHWAYS WERE CONSTRUCTED DURING NDA IN 6 YEARS.

    AND ONLY 16000 KMS DURING UPA IN NINE YERAS.
