Bahrain, Jul 11: Some reports claim that an incident in which an Indian couple settled in Bahrain had died under suspicious circumstances, was in fact, a case of murder followed by suicide. It is suspected that the death of the two occurred separately, although both happened at the same place in close succession.
Smizo Paulose (30), and his wife, Sanita Chandy George (27), both of Kerala origin, were found dead in the residence of Sanita’s sister. A local news agency claimed that Paulose had stabbed his wife to death before slitting his own throat.
Smizo had married Sanita about six months back. The reports said that Sanita worked as a nurse in the department of health services in Bahrain. It is said that Sanita was on a visit to her sister’s home for a few days, to take rest in connection with an abortion she had suffered in the recent past.
It is claimed that Paulose, who was seething with anger when he came to the house of Sanita’s sister on Monday July 8 and approached his wife, stabbed her to death in a fit of rage, and then sliced his own throat, causing his own death in the bargain. Reports said that the children of Sanita’s sister were eyewitnesses to this gory incident.
It is learnt that the police have begun detailed investigation into the incident in the presence of the officials of Indian embassy in that country.
