Bangalore, Jan 20: The Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO) and Irish Exporters Association signed Charter of Best Practice – Focusing Credit Risk Management, Debt Recovery and Terms of Trade.
The Charter was signed by Walter D’Souza, convener, Committee on Agro Exports and AEZ, FIEO and chairman, Cashew EPC of India and John F Whelen, chief executive, Irish Exporters Association.

The Charter was signed in a function organized by Federation of India Export Organizations on Monday January 16, wherein Michael Martin, T. D . minister for Enterprize, Trade and Employment, Republic of Ireland along with Kieran Dowling, ambassador of Ireland to India and Lord Rana, Consul for India, Northern Ireland, were present.
With this measure, FIEO has envisaged a quantum jump in bilateral trade to US$ 1 billion by the year 2010.
The intention in producing the Charter is to give a useful and easily accessible guide to businessmen in Ireland and India on these matters and to commit both the IEA and FIEO to promote adherence by export industry in their respective countries to these best practice principals.
