Mumbai, Jul 8: The annual general body meeting of St. Joseph’s Konkani Welfare Association Mira Road was held at 6 pm on 7th July 2013 at “Infnat Jesus Hall” of St Joseph’s Church, Mira Road.
The meeting began with a prayer led by Fr Dominic Vas, spiritual director of the association.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr Dominic Vas, said that Konkani is “our mother tongue, if we encourage the usage of it in our homes, it will grow and youth will be attracted towards it.”
During the meeting 13 new committee members were elected for the next three years.
The new office bearers of St. Joseph’s Konkani Welfare Association Miraroad are:
President: John Crasta.
Secretary: Arun Noronha.
Treasurer: Lawrence Mathias.
Cultural Secretary: Hilary D’Silva
Vice President: Celine Mendonca.
Joint Secretary: Digo Rodrigues.
Assistant Treasurer: John Correa.
Assistant Cultural Secretary: Richard Mathias
