Udupi, Jul 5: Anand, one of the three accused in the Manipal gang-rape case, was produced in the chief judicial magistrate court on Friday July 5, after his five-day police custody ended.
He was remanded in judicial custody till July 15.
The court also ordered that Anand be shifted to Shimoga jail for security reasons.
The other accused, Hariprasad, is also lodged in Shimoga jail till July 15. There is fear that the accused in the case may be attacked by the public and hence they are being shifted outside Udupi.
Prime accused Yogish is still recuperating in hospital at Manipal. He had attempted suicide on June 27 fearing arrest.
The victim was discharged from hospital on the night of Thursday July 4.
