Bangalore, Jul 5: Karnataka chief minister, Siddaramaiah, asserted that there is no question of dropping minister for minor irrigation, Shivaraj Tangadagi. It may be noted that after the deputy commissioner decided to go by the rule and restore the land on which Tangadi’s brother was building a bungalow to its original owner by demolishing the structure, she was transferred all of a sudden.
He said that the allegations made against Tangadagi are not backed by facts. “The allegation of malicious intention in the transfer of Koppal district deputy commissioner, Tulasi Maddineni, is ill-founded. Her transfer was not affected out of any pressure or political foul play. As she had completed a term of two years there, she was shifted in normal course,” he clarified.
On the question about the involvement of Tangadagi’s brother in an alleged land scam, he said those found guilty will be punished as per law. “Allegations connected with this case will be scrutinized by the next deputy commissioner of the district,” he added.
It may be recalled that Tulasi Maddineni had not been given any new posting upon her transfer. Through an order issued on Thursday July 4, the government transferred her as the chief executive officer of Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat.
