Mangalore, Jan 18: The Bunder police on Tuesday January 17, arrested a person found hanging around suspiciously. With this the police have accomplished in getting a breakthrough in tracking down a gang of robbers, who had kept the police in the dark for a very long time.
The person identified as Subramanya hailing from Rayapura in Chattisgarh, confessed that he belonged to a gang of eight members who were involved in robbing people by diverting their attention.
On further interrogation it came to light that the gang hailed from a community from Ramajinagar in Coimbatore. These persons are said to be past-masters in their jobs and are also multilingual, who first study the victim and the place.
The police have recovered Rs 15,000 from the arrested.
B Dayananda, superintendent of police has cautioned the people against such conmen and has asked to report to the police any person found in suspicious state.
