UAE to send 2,400 tonne food for Pakistani families


Islamabad, Jun 30 (IANS/WAM): The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will provide food supply of 2,400 tonnes to 30,000 families affected by floods and military operations in Pakistan during the holy month of Ramadan.

The initiative is being taken, the team overseeing implementation of the UAE project to help Pakistan, following the directives of country's President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

According to a statement by the project team, the food assistance, worth over $1.5 million will be distributed among displaced families in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, and in North and South Waziristan Agencies.
