Mangalore, Jan 14: The annual special issue of 'Pingara', a newsweekly edited and published by Raymond D'Cunha, Taccode, was released in a press conference here at the Press Club on Saturday January 14 morning.
The issue has been brought out on the occasion of "Makara Sankramana", a popular local feast in lines with the Pongal in Tamil Nadu. The special issue was released by Rajesh Sequeira, coordinator, Karnataka NRI Forum, UAE. Fr Francis Rodrigues, editor, Raknno Konkani Weekly and Raymond D'Cunha were present on the occasion.
Dr Mohan Alva, president, Alva's Education Foundation, Moodbidri, and Abhaychandra Jain, MLA and chief whip, government of the Karnataka, who were to be present at the press conference, could not make it owing to unforeseen engagements.
