Mangalore: New block of Lady Goschen hospital to be ready by Dec 2014 - Moily

Mangalore, Jun 24: Union minister for petroleum and natural gas Dr M Veerappa Moily on Monday June 24 visited Lady Goschen hospital and inspected the ongoing work on the new block sponsored by ONGC-MRPL.
During his visit, he held discussions with the officials of ONGC-MRPL, the district administration and the Lady Goschen hospital.
Speaking to media persons, Moily said the construction work is going on well and good pace has been maintained. "The work done is more than what I expected. The project will be completed by December 2014," he said.
"Once two floors are built, it will be handed over to the hospital as many patients are facing difficulties," he informed. He also lauded the district administration, MRPL, ONGC officials for taking the initiative.
When asked about the compensation for the Perne gas tragedy victims, he said two days back discussions were held with HPCL in Bangalore. "We will sanction the amount soon and within 6 weeks necessary action will be taken," he said.
Contractor of the new block Raghavendra from MB Krishna Rao Shelters Pvt Ltd said, "As per the plan, by March we will hand over 2 to 3 floors to the hospital. The construction work of the whole block (6 floors) will be completed by December 2014 for sure."
Corporator Shashidar Heggde, Bhaskar Moily, Tejomayya, DC N Prakash, P P Upadhya, MRPL managing director, Shakuntala, superintendent of Lady Goschen hospital among others were present.
