Donate generously to help Uttarakhand's people: PM

New Delhi, Jun 21 (IANS): Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Thursday urged people of the country to come to the aid of residents of Uttarakhand suffering due to the devastating floods.

Manmohan Singh appealed to people to generously donate to the Prime Minister's National Relief fund to help the flood-devastated people in the difficult time.

"You are all aware that there has been extensive devastation due to cloud burst and floods in state of Uttarakhand. A large number of people have died and property worth crores of rupees has been damaged," he said in the appeal.

"At this moment, affected people need our help to tide over the calamity that has fallen upon them to survive and rebuild their lives," he said, urging people to "stand with our distressed fellow countrymen, and actively participate in national efforts to support them in their difficult time".

First of all, government should stop wasting public money for their tours to foreign countries. Also, corruption should be checked. Then only people of India can think of donating their earnings to the relief fund of the government. Tonnes of food grains are being rotten in warehouses and many parts of India, people are suffering due to non availability of food grains.

Most of the people in this corrupt congi govt are preachers but they dont do anything. PM can surely make arrangements to get back millions of dollars deposited by his politician cronies at the swiss bank and use all of it for the development of the nation. As it is the common man of this country is burdened with exorbitant tax, rising prices, and depleting resources because of which he finds it difficult to take care of his family. Why cant the dumb PM beg the richie richs of the country to bail him out?
