Mangalore, Jan 13: The State Industries and Commerce department, DK district administration and DK District Industries Centre and Kanara Small Industries Association will jointly organise Yantra 2006, a national-level mega industrial trade fair at Mangala Stadium from Feb 14 to March 15.
Deputy commissioner H V Parshwanath released a brochure in connection with the monthlong trade fair in City on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, District Industries Centre joint director S G Hegade said that the fair was also organised last year, but in a very small scale which lasted only for five days. Inspired by the response obtained from the previous year, the organisors have thought of holding a national-level programme this time, he added.
A total of 250 stalls will be put up in the fair. Companies from across the country will be allowed to display their machineries and also to demonstrate the process of manufacturing different products, Bhat informed.
The Kanara Small Scale Industries Association president Krishna Bhat said that the exhibition will feature a plethora of items like manufacturing machinery, electrical and electronic equipments, printing and publishing accessories, construction material and sanitary ware, agricultural, hospital and fisheries equipment, furniture, fabrics, cosmetic and food products.
Opportunity has also been given to engineering students to exhibit their inventions in the trade fair, he added.
