Kasargod: Police seize 77.5 kg of ganja from lorry, culprits escape

Kasargod, Jun 18: In a major haul, the Vidyanagar police on Wednesday June 18 seized 77.5 kg of ganja that was being transported by a lorry.
However, the three men who were in the lorry managed to escape. They were later identified as Abdul Rahiman, Abdul Salam and Gangadhar.
Police recovered 77.5 kg of ganja, Rs 25,000 in cash, a mobile phone, ATM card and other items from the lorry.
The ganja was being smuggled from Badiadka via Adruguli-Cherkala road.
The police stopped the lorry as part of routine checking while on their night beat, but on seeing the police, the three men inside escaped leaving behind their vehicle. On inspection, the police found the sacks of ganja and other items.
A case have been registered against Abdul Rahiman, Abdul Salam and Gangadhar in the Vidhyanagar police station.
