Doha: K'taka Sangha creates environmental awareness

Doha, Jun 17: Karnataka Sangha Qatar, an organization of Kannadiga expatriates from the South Indian State of Karnataka has been involved in several socio-cultural and philanthropic activities. Once again in line with Karnataka Sangha Qatar’s commitment to socio, cultural and environmental protection, a beach clean-up campaign was organized at Wakrah Family Beach, under the leadership of dynamic president Deepak Shetty.

Among the many objectives of KSQ, this activity was organized to raise the environmental awareness among Kannadiga community and children and also to highlight the significant contribution that one could make in protecting the environment.

Despite the strong windy morning, nearly 60 families participated in the activity with their family and children. Addressing the gathering, president Deepak Shetty highlighted the need for celebrating World Environment Day.

Shubha Murulidhara, briefly spoke on the environment conservation and its impacts. Tufail Mateen compered the event and general secretary Mahesh Gowda delivered vote of thanks.

V S Mannagi, immediate past president of KSQ and chairman of the advisory board, past presidents - Arun Kumar, Prabhakar, VP-KSQ, Nagesh Rao, committee members and members of KSQ,  office bearers of Tulukoota and Bunts Qatar and many prominent members from Karnataka were present on the occasion.

    A very good initiative. Despite the strong winds, the drive was quite successful. Thanks to the participation of many KSQ volunteers and members in great numbers along with family. It was an awarness to the kids as well. Thanks KSQ.

    Despite the strong dusty wind, many families joined with their children to show their commitment to enviornment. We are overwhelmed.
