JD(U) to end alliance with BJP over the weekend: Reports

New Delhi, Jun 14 (ZNB) : As the ruling Janata Dal (United) in Bihar contemplates on breaking its alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party, reports on Friday suggested that Nitish Kumar is most likely to call it quits over the weekend.

Regarding this Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is likely to meet his party legislators on Saturday and take a final call.

Meanwhile, JD(U) president Sharad Yadav has said that discussions on continuance of the alliance with BJP are still on.

The relations between the two partners soured after BJP anointed Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi to head its election campaign.

In the wake of Nitish Kumar failing to give any assurance to veteran BJP leader LK Advani and party president Rajnath Singh, the Bihar unit of the party called an emergency meet of its office-bearers yesterday.

According to sources, the BJP office-bearers gave their go-ahead for a split with the JD(U). Meanwhile, a report said that deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi has asked officials to not seek his approval or clearance for any work. This suggests that the Bihar BJP is already considering itself out of the alliance.

It is widely believed in BJP and NDA that it is a near certainty that Modi will be the PM candidate of the party after his elevation at the Goa conclave as campaign committee head.

This was more a marriage of convienence. JD(U) sounds the 'Secular' bogey too often & its only proper that this alliance should end immediately if BJP wants to score high in Bihar. It is one of the few states still (Like Karnataka) where Janata Pariwar still attracts voters due to socialist mindsets. This is where BJP should concentrate as they are also one of the fragments like JD (U), JD )S), SP, BSP, RJD, LJS, Lok Dal etc..In fact in last assembly elections, BJP scored 91/102 seats with a higher strike rate than JD(U). Nitish realised this & hence continued alliance, however now Modi should change this equation. BJP on own could stand to gain in at least 20 LS seats with clean leaders in Bihar

When the Country's Freedom is just 60 year old, what is the need for a Federal system? Let these regional parties, including BJP since it is a political wing of RSS which is lacking secular character, should first sacrifice their selfish agenda. Modi, if he is such a great leader, shall that he will work for the party at the national level even if he is not ed by BJP for the prime minister post. They have all failed in the past and is likely to be defeated in 2014 by UPA.

The alliance between BJP and JDU came to the point of no return. In fact,Mr Nithish Kumar time and again reiterated that spare Modi continue alliance bring modi snap the ties.It is the suicidal move of BJP in bringing Modi to the fore bypassing all senior politicians of BJP.Now is the time for secular parties to unite against fascist/communal BJP under the leadership of Hitler like Modi.BJP set to loose secular votes and alliance partners alike ultimately conceding to SECULAR GOVT @ DELHI

The congress party is controlled by one single family called Gandhi who rules like a dictator whereas in BJP there is a democratic process to chose their leader. Blaming BJP as communal & fascist shows how communal you are. The practise of secularism by congress means appease the minorities & neglect the majorities.

    DINESH & RAVI....

I am not bothered about Modi abated killing of Muslims or non Muslims. My and like minded million's concern is whether he followed RAJADHARMA or not.Post GODHRA was just state sponsored genocide and Hitler like Modi polarized HINDU-MUSLIM on the basis religion and extreme nationalism as did by HITLER who conquered the world. Those who perished in pre Godhara and post Godhara were just HUMANS.

Getting elected consecutive three times can't be a or Muslims voting Modi are not a parameter for his actions.

Due to suicidal move of BJP(forcing Modi to take number one position by RSS)BJP lost one golden chance to come close to rule India. Now listen the music of third from which may take over Delhi if not Congress-UPA not able to cross Magic majority number. But BJP coming to power is closed under any circumstances...
