Mangalore, Jan 10: "Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is getting ready to send first Indian to moon in the year 2007-08. The government will extend its full support to ISRO," announced state deputy chief minister M P Prakash.
He was speaking with the reporters after visiting the Nature Park at Pilikula here on Monday January 9. He further said that any stone or anything else that will be brought from the moon would be preserved in the Regional Science Centre, which is to be set up in the city soon. "In the meantime the government has already released Rs 6.5 crore for the Regional Science Centre," he added.
An order by the government with regards the allocation of 374 acres of land to Nature Park at Pilikula will be issued within a couple of days, he added.
MLAs N Yogish Bhat, J Krishna Palemar, B Nagraj Shetty, deputy commissioner Dr H V Parshwanath, J R Lobo, SP B Dayanand, former MLA Vasant Salian and others were present on the occasion.
