Kuwait: Tulu Koota to host World Tulu Convention in October

Kuwait, Jun 11: Tulu Koota Kuwait will host World Tulu Convention 2013 - Vishwa Tulu Sammelano on October 17 and 18, 2013 in the American International School, Maidan Hawalli.
Tulu Koota Kuwait which has organized a number of grand events like Tulu Parbas, Tulu Rasamanjari, Tulu dramas by Tulu Nadu artistees and by local talents, sports, medical camps, blood donation camps during its journey of 12 years, is now organizing World Tulu Convention which will be another feather to its crown.
World Tulu Convention would be a programme of two days that will showcase Tulu Nadu’s rich culture, literature, tradition, customs, belief, celebrations and values on an international level. It will witness great Tulu artistes, writers, sports, media, social workers and prominent personalities from India and all over the world who have given their contribution to Tulu Nadu. Besides, it will feature food and beverages in Tulu style, and an exhibit on fairs and festivals and folk arts of Tulu Nadu. The Convention will have a blended display of Tulu culture and tradition by local talents as well as international artistes.
The main aim of the convention is to showcase the rich Tulu art, culture and heritage bringing back the childhood memories of each Tuluva, irrespective of caste, creed or religion and also to inculcate the knowledge to our young generation who have been brought up away from our native land and culture.
To announce the beginning of the superlative world-class event, the logo of the Convention was released by the president, Ramesh Kidiyoor recently at Indian Public School, Salmiya, Kuwait. The logo symbolizes the cultural form of Tulu Nadu and how each culture amalgamates within each other to form the Tulu Nadu legacy. The logo was well designed by TKK member Sachidananda Suvarna.
President Ramesh Kidiyoor said, "It will be a very huge opportunity to show our rich culture and tradition on an international platform" and wished that everyone unites together to accomplish the huge task.
The logo release event had advisors Satishichandra Shetty and Swarna Shetty who said that the decision of the management committee to take this huge responsibility was indeed commendable and it would be accomplished with the coordinated work of the all committee members. Tharendra Shettigar, the vice-president mentioned that there is no endeavor, which is not achievable by Tuluvas. Chandrahas Shetty, the ex-president urged the members to work for its success with their full ability.
H S Swaroop, the plant manager of Plastic Industries who has been an ardent supporter of Tulu Koota Kuwait since its inception was also present. After serving for more than 30 years in Kuwait, he is leaving Kuwait for good and Tulu Koota Kuwait wished him all the very best for his future life.
