Soldiers throw six youth out of moving train

Lucknow, Jun 5 (IANS): Six young men who had, by mistake, occupied a coach reserved for army personnel were thrown off a moving train by soldiers in Uttar Pradesh, police said Wednesday.

The incident occurred on board the Avadh Assam Express near Moradabad, about 340 km from the state capital, late Tuesday.

While five of the young men sustained minor injuries, one - Imtiaz Ali - suffered severe head injuries.

The youngsters told police that they rushed into the train as it was about to leave and unknowingly boarded a coach meant exclusively for army soldiers. By the time they realised they were in the wrong coach, the train had pulled out of the station.

The injured youth said the soldiers refused to heed their pleas that they would get off at the next station, and thew them out of the moving train, one by one.

The injured were identified as Imtiaz Ali, Guddu, Rauf, Pankaj, Patvai and Ravi.

No case has yet been registered against the errant soldiers.

A police official said the injured youth did not want to press further action, fearing even more trouble.

    In UP Bihar no one is allowed travel in reserved berth unless he has some muscle power, they will throw out reserved passenger first.
    This was bad day for them, they didn't even purchased ticket thats why they don't want to further press the case.
    Same thing in Keral while you travel alone or specially girls are getting troubled by youth.

    THAT IS COMMON IN NORTHERN PART OF INDIA TRAVEL FORCIBLY IN RESERVED COMPARTMENTS. THIS TIME THESE YOUTHS UNLUCKY.

    Might be these 5 to 6 youth wanted to commit some mischief and get some quick bucks, but the soldiers stopped the mischief and seen that never and ever in their life, these boys will dare to commit this type of mischief.

    Nobody knows the reality.Even some youth are acting like superheros nowadays. Even i faced same problem last month when i was in India an travelling in general compartment.Nowadays i think youth not able to respect the senior citizens or aged people , who are travelling, most of the time in general compartments. I saw many young passengers misbehaving with co passengers.

    It is a murder attempt by the soldiers and should be charged under Section 307: 'Attempt to Murder'.
    Under this Section: Whoever does any act with such intention or knowledge, and under such circumstances that, if he by that act caused death, he would be guilty of murder, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine and, if hurt is caused to any person by such act, the offender shall be liable either to imprisonment for life, or to such punishment as is herein before mentioned.

    At the same time even youth's who traveled can be charged under looting etc. etc. Who know the reality? Even a youth was scared to file a complaint in the police station why? I think may be the youths were in wrong side.

    police must check first these cowboys had purchased ticket or just entered to pick pocket or loot someone innocent,unfortunately they entered in a wrong compartment.
    These all looters enter the train last moment and even get down before train coming to any station.
    They must punished for their crime and better police check their history as well that's why they might be worried more than injured.

    Mr Antony, do you have the guts to punish this errant soldiers. The file will be thrown in to trash ( Like the people thrown out of train ), as it is not serious. Once George Fernandes commented that rapes are not uncommon in India.

    Why to punish the soldiers??? After knowing the truth only some one can punish. In state like U.P., Bihar there is no importance for reservation. Anybody can sit anywhere.....this was my experience when i traveled from Mangalore to Delhi.

    Dear Krishna, don't get upset. Wait for the investigation report (if it ever comes out) to pin point blame on soldiers. In either case whether report comes or not, no one can do anything. Forget soldiers, bonafide passengers have been thrown out by gangs travelling without tickets for objecting them travelling in the reserved compartment. You will know it when you travel north of Nagpur. I will not be surprised and rule out the possibility that this gang has misbehaved.
