New Delhi, Jun 2 (Agencies) : Failing to generate any buzz with his Jantantra Yatra, Anna Hazare blogged a letter to the Prime Minister Saturday about his decision to sit on another "fast unto death" for the Jan Lokpal.
"You had given false assurances to make me give up my August 2011 fast, now I have decided to start it again. People sitting in airconditioned rooms cannot understand the plight of the common man because of corruption, it has caused inflation to peak," he wrote. "Seeing the plight of the man on the road, I have decided to sit on a fast for Jan Lokpal at Ramlila till there is life in my body. Soon I will announce the date of the fast."
The public profile of Hazare, who split from Arvind Kejriwal last September, has appeared to be rather low over the past few months. Apart from a rally in Patna in January, there has been little coverage of the movements of the man who hogged the headlines throughout 2011.
Hazare's last fast ended in something of an anti-climax when Kejriwal announced the decision to form his political party against Hazare's wishes.
