Moscow, May 29 (IANS/RIA Novosti): Russia has announced its defence ministry will purchase a range of new vehicles, as it requires them for transportation of forces and other purposes.
"We have decided to start the serial purchase of a range of vehicles ... we need the most mobile and modern vehicles for transporting our forces and supplies to areas of military activity," Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu said Tuesday during a visit to a military test centre.
The minister was at the defence ministry test centre in the Moscow region, where he watched a display of Russian-made military vehicles and equipment.
Shoigu, however, did not elaborte when those vehicles would be purchased and how many.
