Mangalore: DC instructs MCC engineers to finish pending works before rains

Mangalore, May 15: A special meeting regarding the responsibilty of the engineering wing of MCC was held at Mangala Auditorium, Mangalore City Corporation here on Wednesday May 15 at 4 pm.
The meeting was headed by the deputy commissioner and MCC administrator, N Prakash and MCC commissioner Dr Harish Kumar.
The meeting was convened to discuss issues and problems regarding pending developmental works in the city.
The DC urged the engineers to complete all the pending works that have been sanctioned at the earliest, before the start of the rainy season.
The issue that hogged the limelight was the long-pending work on the proposed bus stand at Pumpwell. The project that has seen ups and downs over the years ever since it was first mooted back in 1994 was discussed at length during the meeting. Finally, the DC urged the officials concerned to carry on with the plans, and that he would hold discussions with the new MLAs and take their opinions too.
He further urged all the officials and the engineers to be very strict and sincere in their duty. He also warned the engineers that he would carry out spot inspections to check if the information given by them on the progress of development was genuine or not.
