Mangalore: Udupi Bishop Dr Gerald Lobo launches music album of 'Angelina'

Mangalore, May 13: The much awaited music album of Konkani telefilm 'Angelina’ was released at Suratkal on the occasion of Catholic Sabha programme organized by Udupi and Mangalore diocese jointly on Sunday May 12.
Art coordinator and main coordinator of the telefilm Joseph G M Rebello gave a brief outline of the telefilm. The audio CD was released by Udupi bishop Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo in the presence of MP Oscar Fernandes, Mangalore MLAs J R Lobo, Mohiuddin Bava, Byndoor MLA Gopal Poojary, Nigel Pereira, telefilm producers-Jeevan Lazarus, Adel D'Souza and Joseph Rebello, music director M Dolvin Kolalgiri and lead actress Snehal Mathais.
Bishop gave his blessings and wished the Angelina team good luck and asked the people to support the youngsters.
Young and famous music composer Kevin Misquith (of Thembe Thembe fame) purchased the first music CD and wished the team Angelina good luck.
The album comprises of eight tracks plus three minus tracks.
Talented musician from Udupi, M Dolvin Kolalgiri has composed the melodious and heart touching music for the telefilm. Music of Angelina is different from the traditional Konkani music and has been given modern touch to reach Konkani music lovers of all generations; undoubtedly both the young and old will be satisfied with richness in its lyrics, tunes, music and vocals. Young and prolific singers have come together to sing for the album.
Prajoth D’sa has proved that he is a master in fast-paced tracks too by singing the title track "Angelina" penned by Eric Soans Barkur. The song has become very popular even before the release of the album. There is an unplugged version of this super hit title song and a remix track by DJ Rosh for the same.
Shiny Rodrigues Kallianpur and M Dolvin have sung their debut super hit duet song “Nasheli Raath” written by young lyricist Anil Byndoor (Spain) which has captured hearts of many Konkani music lovers around the world.
Winner of Gulf Voice of Mangalore (Season 1) - Vinay Lewis, Kallianpur has sung another melodious song “Manik Manik” which will evoke the feeling of pride in any girl's parents. It has been penned by Richard Dais Kallianpur.
Harriet Braganza of Kundapur has sung a slow emotional song penned by Kishoo Barkur. Arun Danthy, well-known MC, has sung a Baila song "Aaz Kaal mujha Jineyenth" penned by Melwyn Mascarenhas Kolalgiri which will compel the listener to shake a leg. There are other special musical attractions which will be heard for the first time, such as natural whistle and Live Melodica by Wilfred D’sa and M Dolvin.
Vocals and live instruments were recorded at Pad Studios by Prajoth D’sa, and music programming was at Messaih Music Station by M Dolvin Kolalgiri.
All songs were mixed by Darrel Mascarenhas at D Labs, Florida, USA for better sound quality, with additional sound engineering by Adil Nadaf (Bangalore) and James D’souza (Bangalore). The attractive CD cover design and photography is by Avi (Zion Digital Studio, Santhekatte-Kallianpur). Music album is marketed by Jason Taccode, Grace Music India.
More than 250 audio CDs were sold out soon after the release at the venue.
Angelina telefilm will be officially released on Sunday May 19 at Makkala Mantapa, Brahmavar, where the first screening of the telefilm will be held along with live music and a formal stage function.

Mangalore, May 13: “It is important that every individual takes part in the social service initiatives. Rather than pledging support or encouraging others to participate in social service, getting involved with it is sublime. There is always a need for the people who can take leadership in serving the masses. One needs to imbibe the principles and ideals preached and followed by Jesus Christ, and become His genuine follower,” said Bishop of Udupi diocese, Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo.
He was delivering the message after inaugurating the 35th mega convention of Catholic Sabha Manglur Pradesh, held at Sacred Heart Church, Suratkal, on Sunday May 12.
“We should inspire the children to rise to top government positions in the country, and to serve the people without falling prey to corruption. This will in turn, result in selfless service of the people,” he added, duly noting that service, sacrifice, and universal brotherhood have been the guiding ideologies of Catholic Sabha. Noting that the Sabha has made tremendous strides in these fields, he wished that the organization will expand its functioning to all over the country.
Priest of Suratkal church, Fr Antony Lobo, rendered prayer. Catholic Sabha central unit president, Nigel Pereira, presided. Karnataka state president of All India Catholic Union, Monte Fernandes, delivered keynote address.
Former union minister, Oscar Fernandes, legislators, B A Mohiuddin Bava, J R Lobo, and Gopal Poojary, were felicitated at the venue on behalf of the organization.
