Class XII girl shot dead at her home in Delhi


New Delhi, May 10 (PTI): A teenaged girl, studying in Class XII, was shot dead on Friday morning allegedly by a boy in her house in south Delhi, police said.

A senior police official said a boy entered the house in Budh Vihar in Munirka area, closed the girl's room and pumped bullets into her chest.

The victim has been identified as a student of government school in RK Puram Sector 5.

"Her aunt was present in the house when the incident took place. After shooting her, the boy whose identity is yet to be ascertained, fled from the scene," the official said.

The girl was rushed to Safdarjung Hospital where she was declared brought dead.

The girl was attacked in Buddh Vihar in Munirka area, according to the police.

Police said an unknown person barged into the victim's house, shot her in the chest and fled.

The girl succumbed to her injuries in a hospital.
