Udupi, May 6: Fr Louis D’Sa, parish priest of St Francis Church, Mudarangadi celebrated silver jubilee of ordination to priesthood here in the Church premises on Saturday May 4.

Bishop of Udupi diocese Fr Jerald Isaac Lobo presided over the function.

Earlier, a grand Eucharistic mass was held in the Church presided over by Bishop of Udupi with as many as 40 co-celebrants.

A felicitation programme was organized as part of the silver jubilee. Congress leader Ivan D’Souza, astrologer and priest Vedamurthi Kenja Shridhar Thanthri, Sunni Jammiya Masjid Mudarangadi Sheik Mohhamed Idhris, Aurangabhad diocese vicar general Fr Valerian Fernandes, parish priest of Shirva Fr Stany Tauro, Rocky D’sa and John Pius D’sa, siblings of Fr Luis D’Sa were present on the occasion.

Bishop of Udupi diocese Fr Jerald congratulated Fr Luis for having completed 25 fruitful years of priesthood, serving humanity and preaching the teachings of Christ. As part of the silver jubilee, Bishop released a souvenir ‘Salaval’ and the Church telephone directory. The foundation stone laying ceremony of the new building for the mid-day meal in the school too was held at the special occasion.

Parish council vice president Joseph D’Souza welcomed, secretary Jannet Barboza proposed vote of thanks. Theresa D’souza and Rajan Pinto compered the programme.
