New Delhi, Apr 30 (IANS): The Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 2 p.m. Tuesday amidst demands by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's resignation over the coal blocks allocation.
The BJP members started raising slogans as soon as the house began its proceedings after resuming sittings at 12 noon.
Earlier, both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned till 12 noon following repeated disruptions by opposition parties over the allocations of coal blocks and 2G spectrum.
Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj addressed the house as it reconvened.
The Lok Sabha will take up financial business including the railway appropriation bill, the demands for grants of the various ministries and the Finance Bill 2013 as agreed upon by the BJP Monday at an all-party meeting called by Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar to break the ongoing parliament logjam.
The financial business needs to be passed on a priority basis as it will facilitate the funds required to ensure the smooth running of the government.
