Parliament again disrupted over coal blocks allocation

New Delhi, Apr 30 (IANS): Both houses of parliament were Tuesday adjourned till noon over the issue of allocation of coal blocks.

The main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been pressing for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's resignation over the issue.

When the Lok Sabha reconvenes, Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj will make a brief observation in the house, said sources.

The house will then take up financial business, including the railway appropriation bill, the demands for grants of the various ministries and the Finance Bill 2013, as agreed upon by the BJP Monday at an all-party meeting, called by Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar to break the ongoing logjam.

The financial business needs to be passed on a priority basis as it will facilitate the funds required to ensure the smooth running of the government, sources said.

The Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha have seen repeated disruptions by opposition parties over the allocation of coal blocks and 2G spectrum.
