Kuwait, Apr 29: The Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA), a premiere Mangalorean Catholic association in Kuwait recently held first Holy Communion party of its members' children for the seventh year in succession. The celebration was held in the ICSK auditorium, Khaitan.
Seven of members' children participated in the community celebration with KCWA along in the company of over 400 guests.
The participating children were: Raphael Jordan D'Souza, son of Jackson Victor D'Souza and Blossom Shirley Rasquinha; Ervin Castelino, son of Edward Castelino and Irene Jacintha Monteiro; Olivia Jessica Lobo, daughter of Oswald Lobo and Shaila Lobo; Reevan Leeson Martis, son of Richard Martis and Lavina Martis; Aretha Raina D'Mello, daughter of Gregory Robert D'Melllo and Anitha Flora Pinto; Lan D'Mello, son of Alan D'Mello and Flevia D'Mello; Ethan Jeremy Fernandes, son of Joy Noel Fernandes and Wanishia Laila D'Souza.
After the MC of the evening, Deepak Andrade welcomed the gathering; the first holy communicants came in a procession with candles and cut the cake together after the prayer.
President Anil Fernandes welcomed all the guests and gave brief on KCWA’s motto and achievements. Visiting priest Fr Nelson D’Souza raised the toast and congratulated and blessed all the first holy communicants.
On behalf of the parents, Wanishia Fernandes responded to the toast and thanked KCWA for organizing such a memorable celebration. Spiritual director of KCWA Fr Noel D’Almeida presented mementos to the children on behalf of KCWA.
Various games for children and adults were organized and spot prizes were also given. All the guests enjoyed the scintillating music of popular DJ Kiran Sunny as they danced their hearts out.
Snacks, refreshments and delicious dinner were served to all. The well-organized get-together concluded with a baila dance session and finally with laudate. Deepak Andrade compered the event and Rinna D’Souza trained the communicants with prayer in Konkani.
Paul Aranha captured the event by his photography skills. Backdrop was arranged by Gerald and Shalet. Nitin Castelino and Anil Menezes coordinated the whole event with the support of KCWA committee members.
