14 thoroughbreds found at Mexico drug lab


Mexico City, Apr 19 (IANS/EFE): Police found 14 thoroughbreds at an illegal drug lab in Guanajuato, a state in central Mexico, and arrested four suspects, officials said.

Officers "found 14 Portuguese and Spanish thoroughbreds, five ponies, a foal and a domestic horse, all of which were secured at the site", the National Security Council said.

Police went to the property in the city of Santa Cruz de Juventino Rosas in response to a telephone call, the council said.

Jason David Wilson, a 40-year-old who is presumably a Canadian citizen, Pablo Barrios, 35, Gerardo Garcia, 25, and Maria Mercedes Maya, 27, were arrested along with a minor, the council said.
