Panaji, Mar 15: The Churches in Goa and Daman will hold special prayers on March 19, a day for prayer for the New Pope, Francis. This is the day when he will inaugurate his ministry in the Vatican city.
The circular has been issued by Archbishop of Goa and Daman, Filipe Neri Ferrão, asking all the Parish Priests, Chaplains, Rectors of Church Institutions as well as Superiors of Religious Communities in the Archdiocese to observe the day of prayers for the Pope.
The anticipated Chrism Mass to be held on March 21, 2013, at the Cathedral Church at Old Goa at 10 a.m. will be also the Thanksgiving Mass for the new Pope, he has announced through the circular.
The Archbishop expressing his reactions over the new Pope has said: Pledging filial respect, obedience and the support of prayers of the faithful of this Archdiocese, he underlined the simplicity and the humility of Pope Francis and reminded the faithful of the call he made to undertake with him a journey of brotherhood, love and trust, for a great spirit of fraternity in the world.
