Kundapur: Panic strikes as locals mistake wild kitten for cheetah cub

Kundapur, Mar 13: Panic struck the villagers of Byndoor Yadthere after they mistook a wild kitten for a cheetah cub on Wednesday March 13 morning.
At around 9 am, a family residing at Yojana Nagar's Fees Valley compound found a wild kitten in a thorny bush and mistook it for a cub. The frightened family members immediately informed Byndoor sub-regional forest office.
Byndoor sub-region forest officer and his team immediately arrived at the spot and caught the young animal and took it to Kundapur sub-region forest conservator’s office. On examination they found that it was a wild kitten and not a cub.
"The captured wild kitten and is about 8-9 months old. It had entered the village in search of food and might have hidden inside the bush because of villagers," informed P Manjunath Shetty, assistant conservator of forest, Kundapur subdivision.
Kundapur forest officers Lohith, Lekhadarshini and Byndoor sub-region officers Govind Patagara, Srinivas Jogi were present.
