Washington, Mar 13 (IANS): A nephew of former US president George W. Bush and a grandson of former president George H.W. Bush has filed paperwork to run for Texas land commissioner next year.
George P. Bush, the eldest son of former Florida governor Jeb Bush, was considered as a rising star among conservative Hispanics since his mother was born in Mexico, reported Xinhua.
"If you believe, as I do, that Texas is truly an exceptional place with a rich heritage and a future of unbound potential, then I ask for your support as I run for Texas land commissioner in 2014," the 36-year-old attorney from Fort Worth, Texas, said in a three-minute video on his newly-launched campaign website.
Bush said that if elected, he would address issues including veterans' affairs, education funding, energy policy, natural resources, coastline problems and historical archives.
