Bantwal: Sons leave father in forest, refuse to take him back

Bantwal, Mar 13: In a bizarre incident, two sons abandoned their father in Charmadi forest on Sunday March 10.
Thaniyappa Kulal, a resident of Mittakodi in Peraje was a daily wager. However, for the past few months he was unable to work as he was injured by a fall from a small bridge.
Hence, he stayed back home without working and used to irritate the family members after consuming alcohol. Fed up with this, the two sons planned to abandon father and left him in Charmadi forest on Sunday.
The sons with the help of a neighbor took their father to Charmadi in a car and returned without him.
Thaniyappa Kulal was left wandering in the forest in search of a way out.
Meanwhile, Thaniyappa's nephews when returning home in a lorry. When they came to know of their uncle's helplessness, they brought him back home from the forest.
However, the two sons refused to accept him back and said that it was impossible for them to look after him.
A case has been registered in the Vittal police station.
