Mangalore: Major haul - Police seize over 34 kg of ganja, arrest three

Mangalore, Mar 13: In a major haul, the coastal security police on Monday March 11 seized ganja worth Rs 8 lac and arrested three persons.
The accused have been identified as Anees Ahmed and Mansoor Ahmed from Mysore and Anwar Pasha (45) from Chikmagalur.
Police said that the accused were transporting more than 34 kg of ganja from Mysore to Udupi where they planned to sell it.
On receiving authentic information that the accused were staying at Attavar Uppina Dakke here, the coastal security police raided their hideout and recovered three travel bags by which the accused had planned to tranport the ganja to Udupi.
Police recovered 34.6 kg of ganja and three mobile phones from the accused. During interrogation, it was revealed that a man identified as Anwar Pasha from Mysore had given them the ganja to sell in Udupi.
Coastal security police inspectors Y Gangireddy, head constables Taranath, Pranesh, Shashidhar, Naseer, Lokesh, Vijaya K, and driver Usman carried out the operation under the direction of coastal security higher officers.
