‘Hi Vatt Khoim Veta?’ bags best performance award

Goa, Mar 12: In the recently concluded fourth Tiatr festival, ‘Hi Vatt Khoim Veta?’ written and directed by Mario Menezes was adjudged the best Tiatr performed. The awards for best performance, direction and best acting male and female were presented at the hands of the chief guest Avertano Furtado, honourable minister for labour, employment and fisheries at an impressive awards presentation ceremony held on Saturday March 9 at the conference hall of Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. 

Other dignitaries who were present on the occasion and gave away the prizes were Fr Bernard Cota, Domnic D’Costa and Reginaldo Rodrigues judges of the festival besides tiatr personalities namely John Claro, Sabina, Premanand Lotlikar, Eddie Mascarenhas, Cezar D’mello in the presence of Joe Rose, vice president and Prince Jacob, president and Victor de Sa, member secretary of TAG. Also a cultural programme of Konkani song, music and skits was presented by Chitra and her troupe.

The details of the awards winners in all the categories are as follows:

Best performance
First prize - Hi Vatt Khoim Veta?, directed by Mario Menezes  
Second prize - Tsunami, directed by Oldrin Sequeira   
Third prize - Hoi ani Nam, directed by Comedian Agostinho

Best direction
First prize - Mario Menezes for Hi Vatt Khoim Veta?   
Second prize - Oldrin Sequeira for Tsunami
Third prize - Comedian Agostinho for Hoi ani Nam
