Puttur: Police arrest two drug peddlers from Chikmagalur

Puttur, Mar 12: Police on Monday March 11 near Haradi railway bridge arrested two persons red-handed while they were taking ganja from Chikmagalur to Puttur.
The arrested have been identified as Raghavendra from Chikmagalur and Rizwan from Puttur.
The police seized 180 grams of ganja worth Rs 10,000 from them.
Under the guidance of DySP Sadanand Varnekar, the Puttur town police team conducted the operation. Bailiff office Kulle Gowda seized the drugs from the arrested.
The accused were supplying ganja from Chikmagalur to Puttur in a Nano car belonging to Rizwan. A case has been registered against the accused and the car has been seized.
Puttur town station inspector Rafiq, official Chandra Puttaswami, Umesh, Kumar Venu among others were part of the operation.
The investigation of the case has been handed over to Puttur inspector M Sudarshan.
