Rio de Janeiro, Mar 1 (IANS): Brazil international striker Luis Fabiano struck a 79th-minute winner as Sao Paulo recovered from a goal down to defeat Bolivia's The Strongest 2-1 in their Copa Libertadores group stage clash.
The former Sevilla star took advantage of a precise Paulo Henrique Ganso cross to slide a left-footer past goalkeeper Daniel Vaca at Sao Paulo's Morumbi Stadium Thursday, reports Xinhua.
Earlier, winger Osvaldo cancelled out Marcos Barrera's opener with a low drive after Fabiano's shot was parried clear by Vaca.
After the match Fabiano said he was delighted to equal teammate Rogerio Ceni as the Brazilian outfit's leading Copa Libertadores scorer with 12 goals.
"I'm very happy to have been able to help the team with my goal and equal a legend like Rogerio," Fabiano said.
