Mangalore, Feb 17: "The Karnataka Janata Party (KJP) has been officially registered and gazette notified by the election commission. Hence an individual who contests in the elections under KJP will belong to KJP, and no third person who is not with KJP can claim to be part of the party,” said Dhananjaya Kumar, state secretary, KJP.
Addressing a press meet at Woodlands here on Sunday February 17, he made this remark in apparent reference to the controversy over 'founder' of KJP Padmanabha Prasanna getting expelled by party president Yeddyurappa for 'anti-party activities' recently.
“We are sure that KJP will achieve much in the upcoming elections. Former chief minister of the state D V Sadananda Gowda has been neglected in the BJP and he is likely to join JD(S) in the coming days. This would be a plus point for KJP as well," he said.
"The selection of candidates for the upcoming elections in all parties is in progress, and so also in KJP. Many experienced candidates in several parties are being neglected and if such people are willing to join KJP, they are most welcome,” he said.
“Some strong hidden forces are acting supreme over the administration of the DK district. KJP will work hard to remove such forces. DK district KJP committee has been formed with a view to strengthen the party’s work in the district,” he added.
