Mangalore: Attempt to smuggle 6 kg of gold in chocolates foiled at Airport

Mangalore, Feb 16: In a major haul, the officials of the directorate of revenue intelligence (DRI) on Saturday February 16 seized 6 kg of gold from a passenger at Mangalore International Airport.
The accused has been identified as Mohammed Haq from Bhatkal.
He arrived from Dubai by the evening flight on Saturday.
Reliable sources said that he was trying to smuggle in 6 kg of gold by concealing it in Cadbury and other chocolates.
The value of the seized gold is well over Rs 1.5 crore.
Haq has been arrested and the gold has been confiscated by the officials.
