Doha: Cricketer-turned-politician Azhar felicitated by AMU alumni

Doha, Feb 16: Former Indian cricketer and Lok Sabha member Mohammed Azharuddin was felicitated by Alighar Muslim University (AMU) Alumni Association, Qatar on Friday February 15 at Aashiyana Restaurant.
Azharuddin was in Doha to attend a hotel inauguration function.
The programme started with the recitation of Holy Quran by Nadeem Mahir. Habibunabi founder president and chief patron welcomed the gathering
Mohammed Azharuddin while addressing the gathering highlighted the contribution of Alighar Muslim University Alumni and suggested to hold a forum on an international level. He also assured his support whenever required.
He expressed his satisfaction on promoting cricket in Qatar and thanked the organizers for felicitating him.
Sabih Bukhari also spoke on this occasion. University 'Tarana' was presented by Habibunabi, Shahidbhai, Danish, Aqil, Sarwar Mirza and Umar Ashraf.
The function concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Umar Ashraf.
Prominent members from Indian expatriate community and frontline leaders from Karnataka expatriate community Syed Abul Hye, Iqbal Manna, Arun Kumar and Abdulla Mono were also present.
