Bangalore, Feb 15 : Bangalore police have successfully cracked the case involving the heartbreaking murder of a four-year-old girl, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Kodichikkanahalli Monday February 11 morning.
On Thursday February 14 Madival police arrested 19-year-old Mahesh from his hometown T Narasipur in Mysore.
It has now been confirmed that Mahesh raped and then killed 4-year-old Sujatha (name changed), daughter of Pavitra and Mahadeva (names changed).
Mahesh, an employee in a garment company was staying next to Sujatha's house. On February 11, while returning home after work he saw Sujatha was playing all alone. He lured her with chocolates and took her to his house. Police said that she was raped and later strangled to death.
Mahesh then wrapped her body with a cloth and threw her near the bushes at night, police said.
What made the incident heart-rending was that rodents or stray dogs had eaten away a portion of her left eye by the time the body was found.
The family of Sujatha stay at Rotary Nagar slum near Kodichikkanahalli. Pavitra and her mother Sarojamma worked as domestic helps at a few houses in the neighbourhood.
