Mumbai, Feb 13: Women’s wing of Thiya Samaj observed its eighth annual ‘Haldi Kumkum’ and cultural programme at Guru Narayana convention hall at Billava Bhavana in east Santa Cruz on Sunday February 10.
On this occasion, Ganesh Kuntalpady of Kudroli Bhagavathi Kshetra, presented his talk on women’s safety. He added that funds for the Thiya Samaj’s, own convention hall, to be built within five years, should be raised through programmes like this.
Chandrashekar R Belchada, president, Thiya Samaj, Dr Pramila Mangalam, linguist, and social worker Saroja Raghav were present on the occasion.
“All social representatives should do selfless service; the effort of selfless service helps society develop. In future educational fund raising, membership fund collecting programmes are planned. Our community people should work for fund raising which will help provide education to children,” said Belchada.
Rohidas S Bangera, working president of the trust, honorary chief secretary Babu Ail , honorary treasurer Ramesh N Ullal, western zone regional committee vice-working president Padmanabha Suvarna, women’s division president Latha Ullal, Appunji Bangera east regional committee working president, Ujwal Chandrashekar women’s wing vice-president, Thimmappa Bangera, UK Vishwanath, Babu Belchada, Sachin Ullal, and all other representatives were present on this occasion.
Chandra M Suvarna welcomed while Shridhar Kavadi introduced the guests to the gathering. Shridhar S Suvarna, editor, ‘Thiya Belaku’, and Divijaya Chandrashekar compered the programme. Shobhalatha thanked and different cultural progammes were held on the occasion.
