Honnavar youngsters impress at Yaya-Ind-Ya Mayaya auditions

Honnavar, Feb 12: The Honnavar auditions of ‘Yaya Ind-Ya Mayaya’ - the first all-India Konkani dance contest, was held at the Prathibhodaya Hall, Honnavar on Sunday February 10.
Fr Richard Rodrigues, parish priest of San Salvador Church, Honnavar declared the auditions open.
Stephen Rodrigues, president of Konkani Kala Kutam, Honnavar and the local coordinator was honoured on the occasion.
The following emerged winners of the Honnavar auditions and will be competing in the semifinals on May 18, 2013, at Kalaangann, Mangalore
Duet winners:
Nayana Prasanna Prabhu and Shwetha Bilgikar, Kumta
Shilpa Gonsalves and Shweta K Naik, Lower Kasarkod
Group winners:
Nayana Prasanna and Party, Kumta
Ventures Group, Kumta.
Pramod Alva, dance director/choreographer, leader of ‘Ocean Kids’, Mangalore and Avil D’Cruz, dance director/choreographer, Nach Sobhann, were the judges.
Lawrence D’Souza, joint secretary, Mandd Sobhann was present on the occasion.
Eric Ozario conducted the proceedings and also acted as the chief tabulator.
The last in the series of auditions will be held in Mangalore at Kalaangann, Shaktingar, on Sunday February 24 at 10 am.
Those who have not yet registered have the last opportunity to do so at the venue between 9 am and 10 am.
