New Delhi, Feb 12 (IANS): A Delhi court Monday sought a detailed status report from police by Feb 25 on a complaint seeking registration of an FIR against Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde for his remarks linking the BJP and the RSS to terrorism.

Metropolitan Magistrate Viplav Dabas directed police to file a detailed report with point-wise replies to the allegations made in the complaint and in the court.

The court also asked police to take excerpts from a CD containing a speech delivered by Shinde Jan 20.

Police Feb 6 filed an action taken report (ATR) saying that the complaint was "motivated" and based on "misrepresentation of facts".

The evidence supplied by the complainant did not disclose any offence worth taking cognizance, police said.

Right to Information (RTI) activist Vivek Garg filed a complaint seeking registration of a first information report (FIR) against Shinde for his remark against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS).

The complaint accused Shinde of making "imputations prejudicial to national integration, uttering words with deliberate intent to wound religious feelings of Hindus, defaming them, and insulting their religion and beliefs".

Shinde during the Congress "Chintan Shivir" Jan 20 in Jaipur accused the BJP and its mentor, the RSS, of conducting terror training camps and promoting "Hindu terrorism".
