Girish Putran was murdered on December 22, 2012 and his body was found in Bajpe station limits near MRPL at Permude.
The exact motive behind the murder is yet to be known. Another 4 to 5 persons connected to the case are yet to be arrested. The motive will be known only after their arrest, said a police official.
Sources said that police arrested the main accused (a youth from Bolur) a month ago. The accused, said to be addicted to drugs, was involved in several immoral activities. As he was a government employee, through influence he used to easily get away each time. Though he was arrested, he is still roaming freely without any fear, sources said.
Natasha, who has a boyfriend, used to reportedly hang out with this youth from Bolur. Sources close to Natasha said that she used to get several other girls into immoral activities by luring them with money.
Hence it is suspected Natasha developed intimacy with Girish for his money and took him to Permude on the pretext of showing some land, and murdered him.
Sources said that at the time of the murder Girish had worn gold worth more than Rs 1.5 lac and had Rs 70,000 cash with him, all of which disappeared from the crime spot. There is no information about the valuables, said police.
